Policies for rental of Lodge property

Lodge reservations can be made by persons who are 21 and over.  This property is not to be used for events/parties without prior arrangements with property owners.

Check-in after 4:00 PM, check-out by 12:00 PM unless prior arrangements are made.

A two-night minimum stay is required for all stays in the Lodge.  The rates listed are for up to 4 people.  There is a $25.00 charge per night plus taxes for each extra guest. Children are welcome and if they are under age 10, they stay free!

A $200 non-refundable deposit is required for the Big Dipper Lodge and $150 non-refundable deposit is required for the Lunar Lodge and Little Dipper Lodge when you make your reservation.   This will be credited to your reservation fees and the balance will be charged on the day of your arrival to the Big or Little Dipper Lodge. Cancellations made 15-30 days prio to your scheduled stay will also be charged a $100 cancellation fee.  Cancellations made 0-14 days prior to your reservation will be charged the full amount of the reservation. *Updated Terms and Conditions as of 3/28/23*

Dogs are allowed at the Lodge with prior arrangements and are charged as an extra guest, which is $30.00 per night plus taxes. NO CATS PLEASE. Dogs must have active flea control, shots, and cannot be left in the Lodge alone unless crated. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. We suggest you keep your dog on a leash as we wouldn’t want them to wander to follow the many scents of nature. Dogs that use puppy pads are not allowed.

Smoking is permitted in the pavilion or on the porch. You may not smoke inside at all!  Pick up any butts and dispose of them in the appropriate containers. A fee of $250 will be charged to your credit card/Airbnb account if it is found that you are smoking in undesignated areas.  Butts may not be thrown into the grass!

Food cannot be left unattended outside.  All garbage is to be taken to the secure locked location to prevent animals from rummaging through it.  Clean the grill after use.  If you use the fireplace, please make sure to use safe procedures and bank all embers.  If there is a fire ban on due to potentially hazardous fire conditions, no outside fire will be allowed.  Firewood must be obtained in our local area.  You are not permitted to bring firewood from other locations due to environmental laws.

Breakfast is NOT included in your lodge stay.  The Lodge has a full kitchen available for your use.  Please make sure to wash all dishes/pots and pans/etc. and return all items to their original location.  If you move the furniture around, please return it to its original location.

Garbage must be placed in the locking storage unit on the deck to prevent animals from spreading it around.

CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATIONS:  As part of the process of completing your reservation, your credit card will have an authorization from Frosty Hollow.  This is just to verify that the card number given is active.  The actual charge will not occur - just the authorization.  Your bank may contact you to confirm this authorization if you are outside PA or have stringent security on it.  If you encounter difficulties with this, please call us at 814-274-7419.  After this reservation is complete, we will charge your deposit shortly and send you an updated confirmation with that deposit credited.
